ScrapCarQuote.co.uk – Terms & Conditions
Welcome to ScrapCarQuote.co.uk (“we”, “our”, “us”). These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) set out the rules for using our website and services. By accessing our site or using our free scrap car quote tool, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our site.
1. About Us
ScrapCarQuote.co.uk is an independent online broker providing instant scrap car valuations and connecting vehicle owners with licensed Authorised Treatment Facilities (ATFs) and specialist salvage buyers. We do not directly purchase vehicles or handle payments — instead, we introduce you to third-party buyers who will complete the transaction.
2. Our Service
We provide a free scrap car quote based on the details you submit.
All quotes are generated using current trade values and may vary depending on your vehicle’s actual condition, location, and market demand.
Once you accept a quote, your details will be passed to a selected buyer who will contact you to arrange collection or drop-off.
We cannot guarantee that every quote will result in a sale.
Our service is free for customers; we may receive a commission from the buyer.
3. Accuracy of Information
You agree to provide accurate and complete details about your vehicle, including:
Registration number
Postcode
Condition (e.g., missing parts, damage, roadworthy status)
Failure to provide correct information may result in a revised quote or cancellation of the collection.
4. Third-Party Buyers
All buyers we work with are licensed ATFs or registered salvage operators.
The contract for sale is between you and the buyer — we are not a party to that contract.
We do not accept liability for:
Price changes
Payment disputes
Collection delays
Damage or loss during collection
Buyers are responsible for issuing payment and completing DVLA paperwork.
5. Payments
Payment is made directly to you by the buyer, not by ScrapCarQuote.co.uk.
Payment method and timing will be agreed between you and the buyer.
We do not hold customer funds.
6. DVLA Notification
It is your responsibility to notify the DVLA when your vehicle is scrapped, sold, or transferred. In most cases, the buyer will assist with this.
7. Your Responsibilities
Ensure the vehicle is accessible for collection.
Remove personal belongings before handover.
Provide keys, documentation, and proof of ID where requested.
Ensure you have the legal right to dispose of the vehicle.
8. Prohibited Use
You must not:
Use our site for fraudulent purposes.
Provide false or misleading information.
Interfere with our systems or data.
9. Limitation of Liability
We make every effort to ensure our service is reliable, but:
We provide no guarantee that a buyer will purchase your vehicle.
We are not responsible for the actions, omissions, or services of third-party buyers.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any indirect or consequential loss.
